John St

Conceived in the fall of 2022 and completed in the winter after, this duplex project had one of the smallest properties in the neighbourhood. The construction required close collaboration with other trades and constant sequencing to keep the build moving efficiently.

Custom cedar fencing and Barkman wall stone create privacy and structure without overwhelming the compact space. Numerous on the fly elevation adjustments were required throughout construction to ensure proper drainage, access, and full compliance with building code, all while maintaining clean lines and a cohesive finish.

A series of custom stepping stones defines the front entry, illuminated by discreet in-ground lighting that guides movement and adds a subtle architectural glow after dark. Despite the challenges of limited space and coordination, the completed landscape feels intentional, refined, and welcoming, proving that thoughtful design and execution can elevate even the smallest urban sites.
